W.V.A. specialises in fishing trips for people with physical disabilities and or learning disabilities, mental health problems, people undergoing re-hab for drug and alcohol abuse and those who are socially disadvantaged. Our service is open to all.  W.V.A. is fully insured and all employees have enhanced C.R.B. checks we are also accredited by Durham County Council as spot day carers/befrienders.

Authorised – First For Sport level 2 angling coach, supported by the A.D.B. (Angling Development Board).

All bait, tackle, and tuition are included, we also have temporary rod licences for clients – all we ask is that the client comes suitably clothed and wears suitable footwear, we also advise the use of a flask for a hot drink. (Please note the temporary licences are for short periods and long term clients will have to purchase a rod licence).  Transport can be aranged if required.

Our service is based on a philosophy of person centered care, the numbers we take are very small generally a 1-3 (1 guide to 3 clients) ratio and on many occasions it can be less than this.

We use quality bait and tackle at all times.

W.V.A. tries to give all clients a varied and interesting challenge and we organise Pike fishing trips to the borders/Lakes & Scotland. (Please note these trips are not the usual price and arrangements are made via social workers/carers on an individual basis.)

Please view POLICIES for specific booking conditions.
